Company outing

Company outing photos — without a private group chat

Within an hour, a company outing breaks up into small groups. And each group takes its own photos.

Some are at the high ropes course, others on the circular trail, a third have long since settled at the barbecue area. By Monday everyone has a few shots of their own afternoon and nobody has any of the rest. What usually follows is a group chat for the outing — in which forty private mobile numbers, profile pictures and all, are visible to everyone. Those who don't like that rarely say so and simply send nothing.

With a dedicated gallery, that issue doesn't arise. A QR code hangs at the meeting point, printed out or on the organiser's device; anyone who scans it types a first name and uploads. No account, no app, no phone number, no membership of anything. Temps and apprentices who started three weeks ago take part just like the head of department.

The rest is a matter of order. Where the photos are stored, how long they stay and who can remove them is settled beforehand rather than debated afterwards. If you want to involve the works council, you have something concrete to show them: a storage location in Germany, a fixed period, deletion handled by software — and participation that stays voluntary, because nobody is obliged to upload anything.

Group chat or gallery

In the run-up, both take roughly the same effort: create a group once, or print a QR code once. The difference only shows afterwards — and by then it can't be made up.

The group chat for the outing

  • Every number is visible to everyone, profile picture included
  • Pictures arrive compressed, not in their original size
  • Anyone who joins later sees nothing from before
  • Eventually someone deletes it — along with everything in it

The gallery for the outing

  • A QR code at the meeting point, a first name, done
  • Photos stay full size and can be downloaded in one go
  • Anyone who only joins in the afternoon sees the whole day
  • Deletion happens on the date you booked

Where are the pictures stored?

On servers in Frankfurt am Main, encrypted at rest — storage and processing happen there and nowhere else. The data centres are run by Amazon Web Services; our contracting party is based in Luxembourg, its parent company in the USA. We do not transfer any data there. Our privacy policy explains how this is safeguarded.

What does it cost my guests?

Nothing. You pay once for the gallery, your guests upload and download for free — as often as they like.

Can I delete pictures again?

As the host you can hide or delete any picture. Guests can only remove their own uploads, not other people's. And you can delete the whole gallery early at any time, without asking us.

What happens when the time is up?

Then we really delete — pictures, videos and guests' names. So it doesn't catch you out, on the paid plans we remind you fourteen days and again three days beforehand by email, in good time to save everything. Only the short trial plan has no reminder.
